[Edit: Oh WOW, it took me just about half an hour to get it, that tumblr ate my entry! Awwwwesome…..Ok, not operating with cuts until I get that shit straight, what might NEVER happen…Sorry?]

Today I did a step from internet told real life around comics to my real life comics adventures.

Nope, I never read nor bought (american and/or european) comics (except my BIG crush on Yoko Tsuno as a girl!), and was more on the manga side of the spectrume for the last 10-15 years. The last two years I started to get interested in comics (beside graphic novells <3), especially DC, but New52 was and still is a good turn OFF for me.

Never the less did I visit an all-american comic book store today. I’m raised in Berlin and whenever I wanted my manga in a comic store, no-one looked at you for being a girl. Today the vendor seamed pretty off-balanced when my friend and I not only got into his shop but also when she was smarting around about particulour issues she’s searching for and stuff. While she waited and talked I took my sweet time to go through some comics that caught my eye with the art work. (I won’t lie: now I’m more interested in the artists and their art then some nice storylines and manpain.) And I got really dissapointed when there were hardly any female artists (writer, colorist, whatever)! The nominee list for the Eisner Award 2013 didn’t look THAT much better. Can somebody please tell me it’s getting better? It’s such a sausage fest and I know there are so many freaking talented girls and women who don’t just want to draw stupid romantic fluffy stuff or IDK. But well, I’ll revel for the rest of the evening in my own kind of manpain over this…

“It makes me angry that people disregard the deletion of characters like Donna Troy, Cassandra Cain, and Stephanie Brown in DC’s reboot. We are not simply angry because three amazing characters are gone, we are angry because we feel constantly marginalized as female comics readers already and deleting more strong female characters adds to the belief in other young women that comics are for boys, not girls.”

Everything I love about Bruce Wayne.

OK, I’m gonna have to give respect to the guy right now.

Inside the mind of Bruce Wayne

Imagine pretending to be someone else for so long and making people think you are someone you’re not just to keep them safe and at arms length away
He has to act to be Bruce way
Batman is his true nature it’s he’s real identity

I always love this whenever it pops up. This is perfect in every way.
